Launch of Café Football in Manchester

Launch of Café Football in Manchester

The National Football Museum in Manchester is one of the city’s most popular attractions, welcoming thousands of visitors from around the world each year. The museum explores the history of football through world class exhibitions as well as boasting outstanding learning and community programmes. This love for the beautiful game has now extended to its culinary offering with the launch of Café Football.

Café Football is located on the first floor of the museum with 75 covers and a spacious bar area. As part of its relaunch, Café Football at the museum has a new menu and a fresh look. Ideally located overlooking Cathedral Gardens, the café is not just aimed at museum guests but is also a great place for city centre visitors to drop in.

Work to transform the existing National Football Museum into Café Football began at the start of March 2017 and was finished at the beginning of June. A spokesperson for the design agency said:

“For this new site finishes and fittings have been retained from the original concept with some new additions unique to the site and a new, faster service offer. The convenience food and drinks service area features a communal bench style table, designed for customers who require a quick snack. Different types of seating are used in the main restaurant area. These offer various options to customers: Wrap around booths, banquette seating and freestanding furniture all create a flexible and sociable environment.”

“As with the other café football venues, the distinctive brand graphics representing the universal football community bring the scheme together using colours, patterns and the language of football from wall graphics to menus.”

The food and drink menu is similarly unique, from the ‘Mara Doner’ pizza to ‘Andrea Ranocchia Bolognese’. Washed down with a ‘Ruud Bulleit’ cocktail, the Café Football experience is a must for any fan.

It’s not just the overnight experience that attracts guests to The Berkeley, however. With two Michelin stars, Marcus Wareing’s restaurant, Marcus, serves exquisite modern European cuisines and has become a must-visit destination for food lovers. Alongside this, the Collins Room is very much the best of British under Executive Chef Shaun Whatling. The menu contains a plethora of British classics, inspired by seasonal and carefully sourced ingredient from across the UK.
