£73m Lakeside shopping centre extension for Intu goes ahead
The 175,000 sq ft leisure extension to the mall in Thurrock, Essex, will be anchored by a Nickelodeon-themed family centre and a Hollywood Bowl venue, as well as catering and retail. Construction is expected to begin this month.

Intu regional managing director Rebecca Ryman said:
“We’re investing millions at Intu Lakeside and it’s exciting to see our plans take shape with the first phase of the centre’s extension. It’s going to provide a fantastic new space for leisure brands to flourish at Intu Lakeside.”
The winning contractor for the construction project commented:
